The Semarapura Festival is held to commemorate the Puputan War. Klungkung which was the culmination of the Klungkung Kingdom’s war against the Dutch colonial occupation in 1908 to maintain independence. This festival is an annual event where each event will showcase various traditional art performances owned by Klungkung Regency.
The Semarapura Festival not only offers various types of typical Klungkung products such as endek cloth, silver handicrafts, and woven bamboo handicrafts. Semarapura Festival also presents various Balinese art and cultural performances that attract visitors’ attention.
The festival featured cultural attractions involving 650 people, such as a solah barong Sebarung performance, and Gong Kebyar performances for children, adults, and women. There is also entertainment that presents artists as well as MSME and culinary exhibitions that reach 120 stands.
Various tourism potentials in this area, including temples, beaches, and natural beauty can be promoted through this event, to attract tourists to visit Klungkung.
